Terra Femina Poem by Brian D Griffin

Terra Femina

You are my warm embrace and when you are not there, my days are cold.
Enfolded in your curves, I am made whole and you are time itself.
It is not right when you cloud and hide, for in your warmth we began.
It is from this mingling that we have grown our roots as one great tree.
From out of the opening in your ground I rise up to meet the sun.
It is not time to twilight when all is still warm and wet with spring.

Yes, now the seeds have taken root and compete for sun and warmth.
They grow around us and have forever altered the landscape of our world.
But beyond them lies still new growth and more to see than ever seen before.
We raise them up and revel in their strength and growth as mighty they arise.
From your rich sweet earth my seeds now stand, still green but growing greatly.
But first the warm embrace, lest we forget why they stand so straight and tall.

You are the warm embrace that brings me through the bitter cold.
I wrap myself in the tenderness of your soft, sweet velvet curves.
When all is well, I wander childlike across the lush ample hills that are you.
Outside of time and without the tick of years, you are the seasons of me.
Upon the rich sweet earth that is you, my flowers awaken and leaves fall.
You are time and I will spend mine fully, wrapped warmly in your bounty.
