Summer Stroll Poem by Laurence Read

Summer Stroll

As we stroll along the cliff-top

Alongthe well worn track

And turn to face the sea

I hold you close to me.

The sun reflects off the water

Shimmering, reflecting the rays so bright

The heat of the sun so warming

Being here with youis absolutely charming

Out to sea, small boats bobble on the swell

A view to savour, a view to behold

I turn and look into your eyes

And hope that I can win my prize.

Out to sea small boats, bobbling on the swell

A sight so wonderful, a sight to view

I turn to look at you and gaze into your eyes

And in this magic moment I hope to win my prize.

As we turn and continue on our way

The fields around us like a patchwork quilt

Greenery rolling along mile after mile

Your face a picture in a wonderful smile.

Glorious days like this make life's dream

Sun, sea and nature's greenery

A lady like you to share in this

We two, share a loving kiss.

I thank you so very much for sharing

The wonderful things that it brings,

I would not change a thing for sure

If you, were by my side for evermore.
