Soul Of A Sparrow Poem by Yiyan Han

Soul Of A Sparrow

Rating: 5.0

- Song written in Chinese by Mr XU Lin in prison

I've got the soul of a little sparrow
Who knows its goal
Though it couldn't highly soar
It always hops and takes wing
And only pauses when the rainstorm is raw
I want to fly over the mountains and wilderness
To find where the sky is free
I want to fly over the rivers and trees
To seek sincere and loving friends
And to be with my soulmates

I've got the spirit of a tough sparrow
Who has a strong and unrelenting soul
Though its body is weak and small
It's always ready to shed the last drop of blood
And would rather die than be tamed
I want to fly over the mountains and wilderness
To find where the sky is free
I want to fly over the rivers and trees
To seek sincere and loving friends
And to be with my soulmates
