Snow In The Rain Poem by Yiyan Han

Snow In The Rain

Rating: 5.0

- The Chinese poem is a poetic express of the beautiful
essay 'It's Snowing In Chengdu' by Hongye, as shown in
image. This is my English version.

It's snowing
Mixed with rain

The rain comes straight down
While the snow flies, dancing in the air
Disturbing the rain's footsteps

Raindrops march in goose step
At the same pace and rhythm
Silently repeating 1,2,3,4
All with the same posture, no individuality
In the name of collective and unity
They rush towards earth

Snowflakes play mischievously
Dancing in the wind. Some spin a waltz
Others a passionate tango, or the alluring cha cha cha
There's no conductor, nor unity
Each shows its own personality
No two snowflakes are identical
O, each one itself is enjoying and performing
The only dance of its lifetime

Who will be embraced by the earth -
Snow or rain or both

Observing snowing that comes mixed with rain is definitely very interesting. This poem is beautifully written and this has rich imagery. Snowflakes play with dancing wind and we feel the beauty through this poem...10

I love this original and very creative write, it is the snow that shines so bright as individuals that dance to their own tune, great lines that add so much character to the snow but is the rain a symbol of conformity as it pelts down all the same! This will be put on my favourite poem list and thank you for sharing!
