Slipping Silence Poem by Rokon Uddin

Slipping Silence

Screaming clients,
Shouting boss,
A pile of files on the table,
Intermittently ringing mobile phone
Surrounded me from all around.
Nevertheless I acquiesce all this naughty noise
Only and only for a very and very small piece of sound silence.

Not much was needed,
A little bit only.

But, alas!
Noise begets noise.

My son bought his guiter.
Colleagues invited me to parties.
Could I say no to my beloved's demand to go shopping?

And I could not help spending for noise
What I earned
Only and only for a very and very small piece of sound silence.

Not much was needed,
A little bit only.
