My New Address Poem by Rokon Uddin

My New Address

Rating: 5.0

It is my new address
Where shines no colour.
Among
Patched-up lungis,
Faded shirts,
Worn-out sharees,
Green only glitters with glowing glamour.

No dwellings are looking grand;
Only huts found all around.
Hardly is vehicle howling heard;
Instead sings sweet tuning bird.

Natives here
Have acquired suntan skin
Through many-day under-sun working.
They need not rush
To sea-beach
To sunbathe
At weekend hours.
