Silence Poem by keith brown

Silence

Rating: 4.5

Silence like a knife
Cuts the madding sound
Liberty!
Released!
It breaks it's fettered bounds
Quieting the startled heart
Soothing mind and soul
Tranquility at last is found
Peace at last is known

Yet none would dwell with silence long
Lest all our hopes and dreams be gone

As sounds of love and life prevail
Invade the darkest sound
Cacophony of noise arise
Fetter silence bounds!
