Tumbleweeds And Memories Poem by keith brown

Tumbleweeds And Memories

Rating: 5.0

His skin is tanned and wrinkled
His hair has turned to grey.
His shirt and jeans are faded
His shoes seen better days

He just can't help but wonder
How the years have blown away
Tumbleweeds and memories, and
Tomorrow's yesterday's

A night he sits alone as evening closes in
He thinks about his life and the way things might have been.
Then drifts away to wander through another place and time tumbleweeds and memories on the backroads of his mind

His swag is rolled and dusted
His billy starts to sing
Damper and black tea as
He hits the road again

He wanders down familiar tracks, time has shown the way
Tumbleweeds and memories and tomorrow's yesterday

Keith---this is literature. The capital L type Literature. It has a rhythm, it has soul, it has repetitions as that tumbleweed rolls
