Rat Race Poem by Payal Priya

Rat Race

Results are out.
Expections surge;
Higher than the springtide.
Children blindfolded-
Medicines! career! engineering!
A rush to reach nowhere!
Yoked by parents little human oxes.
Stop and think!

No laments for real Einstein.
But a drop of tear;
For paints emptied into drains,
Waiting blank canvases.
Bleaker still;
A fight ensues-
Between Newton and Turner,
Raman and Dali.
Bring to the same size,
Pine, mango and breech tree.
Cut and resize if it doesn't fit.
What if it bleeds?
What if it bleeds!
