Queer Choices Poem by Payal Priya

Queer Choices

The sunburnt skin
Shows a burnt fate.
Living on leftovers
Cleaning plates,
The tinkling bangles
Moulded by their blindness.
Your house built,
On little deaf ears.
Your comforts bought,
with little dirty hands,
Holding the mop-
Wiping the nation's future
Begging bowls instead of books.
Weights instead of wisdom
Abyss over sunshine
Our choices are queer
