Rain Barrel Bottom. Poem by Bryan Sefton

Rain Barrel Bottom.

The sun never reaches
Rain Barrel Bottom
Only dark is reflected
Look in and see
A cold, cold nothing

Nor does it reach
The hole beneath the hedge
A hole so complete
Street sounds fade
Distant and dark
Secure from light
Like Rain Barrel Bottom

One can curl here
In the hole under the hedge
Looking down at ones life
A cold, cold nothing
Where the sun never shines
Rain Barrel Bottom
