PERPETUATED STRUGGLE
Passed on from generation to generation
The ancestral child of the soil,
Endured through it all
Both physically and psychologically
Moved with pass books at hand
Their fore heads almost had the label
‘Black'
Sign posts demarcated boundaries everywhere
So that no one mingled with the treasured
Education!
That was food for the chosen
Knowledge would awaken them…
The snake left for its house but
Still nothing was reversed
Its eggs continued to hatch
From generation…
The poor children of the soil have no one
To turn to and nothing seems to work
Life is bitter indeed!
Some have succumbed to their graves
For the sake of freedom and equality
A journey well deserves
