Passion Dancer Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Passion Dancer

Rating: 5.0

Come,
learn the song of love,
speak no language,
look into the pupils of my eyes
search for your reflection there
if you don't find it
look at my lips
read the lines,
as speechlessly, unknowingly,
I keep calling out your name
over and over again;
if you cannot hear those whispers
look at my heart
on it glimmers your portrait.
Like the green grass
romances with the wind,
my heart oscillates
with an intense willpower
to love you eternally;
you have stolen the peace
of my mind,
you have taken away
the calmness of my heart.
Come,
ride on the chariots of wild horses
with me;
come,
sail on the waves of the oceans
with me;
come,
fly on the wings of the eagles
with me;
you have invoked a fury in me.
Come,
extinguish the passion
you have lighted in me…
glide in my arms
and fill your tomorrows
with the music of my love.
I am the Lord of your heart,
I am the man born to love you
and compel you to love me back.
Come,
promise to be mine forever
with vows that you must never forget
though I may;
I am the one
whom you must love
without deceit or discrimination.
Come,
let us waltz in unison
thro this devotion of passion
till our legs ache,
till we are breathless…
and till our passion
drops us and crumples us
on the dance-floor
with mutual compliance.
