Overgrown Garden Poem by Dee Corpolongo

Overgrown Garden

Rating: 5.0

Once again I have brought myself
to a place that is unknown
where there once was a garden
but the weeds have overgrown

What once stood a place
so very magical to me
now has been replaced
by all the weeds you see

The reasons behind
this very diabolical act
Is probably found in
the knowledge that I lack

I seem to always wreck
what means the most to me
and crush any hopes
of maybe what 'could be'

I run away from all my feelings
and hurts I choose to ignore
then I remind myself in tears
this is not what life is for

You must have looked in my yard today. Later, when it is cooler, I am going to pull up all my pea plants and get rid of all the weeds that are surrounding them. It seems like this year the weeds have grown faster than ever before. Thanks for the reminder.

A great poem, we all hide our emotions at some point in our lives, it's how we cope with them when they do come out that counts.
