Not Too Late Poem by Hannah Davies

Not Too Late

Is he making a big mistake?
Is it really her hand in marriage he wants to take?
Does he really love a paedophile?
If he knew the truth, would he run a mile?

How can he let someone like her into his life?
And ask her to become his wife?
How can he trust her?
Especially around his own daughter?

Doesn't he have any doubt?
He must have heard the rumours that are going about.
How can he love that evil monster?
Come to think of it, how could anyone want her?

She really has got him under her thumb
Either that or he must be quite dumb.
When will he wake up and see?
That she is now what she makes out to be.

Maybe he has chosen to turn a blind eye?
Or she has convinced him with her sob stories and lies?
He doesn't really know me
And she hides the truth so he can not see.

There is nothing that I can do to change his mind
He is far too trusting and kind.
He is making a mistake with the decision to wed
He is thinking with his heart and not with his head.

Who knows how long it will last?
And if they will be able to forget the past.
He seems like a really nice man
It's not too late for him to change his mind, whilst he still can!
