Naw I Don't Understand Poem by Tyesha M Doy

Naw I Don't Understand

Rating: 5.0

War bound brown faces with frowns
White men with cricked smiles cricked ways
Dreams being shut down blood spilled
But only my kind being gunned down
Flyers of hate but we supposed to be Ok
‘Cause of freedom of speech
Girl! ! You better gon preach
By law if your freedom of speech infringes upon my rights
You aint right therefore breaking the law that you write
Rage, pain, and anger filled driven just to be killed
By someone who later claims to be mentally ill
Profile us harass us and still we fight with grace
Anger filled your veins still we stayed in our place
Call us apes take our young
Small minds and big guns but political views says U won
By denying what is so obvious now
This is the way they hold us down
Not all who skin match do what you do
Problem now no justice for lives you take
If my brother though
Beat down kicked around staring the barrel of as gun down
Hand on head comply with rules still wind up dead
But freedom for you
Naw I can't understand the excuses u will make
Not when lives are at stake
They openly say we are racist fascist
and hate and will destroy all other race
Yet the government protects them
instead of putting them in that place
Captive freedomless, some may even call hell
The racist F's belong in jail
But like I said political views says they won
By letting them get away with the stuff that they have done

I feel the sting of your words. Unfortunately we have to deal with moral pygmies who think that strength is defined by a few squeezes on the trigger. They want to drag us into mutual destruction.

Brave utterances set aside for sober reflection. Well conceived and nicely brought forth with insight. Thanks for sharing Tyesha and do remain enriched.
