Memorials Poem by Genice Lorraine De Fabriciano

Memorials

Rating: 5.0

Another Memorial
Counting deaths
Stepping to the other side
Of the unknown depths

Did they question
The gift and mortality
Or take for granted
They had time
Their bodies tell their story
Soul and spirit in their prime

This life it seems bereft
Of dreams
That may not come to pass
For in the sullen tears of dew
Wings fly above the mass

Now memories the left to bring
And flowers to mark the grave
Remembrance songs the larks do sing
The Proud
The Free
The Brave
