What a life worth lived!
Driven by true love, vision, passion and purpose,
Forgiveness to even those who never asked for it,
True Servant-leadership by being in others' shoes.
What is the worth of you as the man?
The value added to the world,
Self-sacrifice for the freedom of humanity,
The freedom of those indoctrinated through fear.
The struggle was never about you,
It was about all who live in SA, Africa and the World.
Your freedom without other's freedom was still bondage,
Your stomach can't be full until your neighbour is.
Your legacy touched me, them and then us,
You will never die in us,
Touching children you touched the future,
Equality, human rights and justice was your struggle.
Taught all about leadership,
Schooled us on uBuntu,
Educated us on how to treat one's enemy,
Showed how people should live together in diversity.
Books are written and will still be written,
Man of your word in ACTION,
You don't owe us
We owe you our meaningful legacy
Your life never meant being perfect,
Only being principled even when it hurts,
Humanity was even above family sacrifice,
You fell in love with us and we fell in love with you!
Can the world learn and practice what you preached?
Democracy to you never meant chieftainship,
It was not the West or the East that you pleased,
Neither the North nor the South, but humanity.
Amandla, Maanda, Matimba, Maatla and Power to the People!
Awethu! ! !
