Love Never Dies Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Love Never Dies

Rating: 4.5

In the niche of life, only a single heart wins
as hundred games of reality it contests
some that are never won, some that are always lost
but the winning heart is always hers;
atop a cliff stands her statue endowed with commitment
for a woman is a paragon of connection
be she a mother, a wife or a sister,
out of her, commences life and love geysers……
out of her, as a mother, love passes on in her children
out of her, as a sister, love passes on in her peers
out of her, as a lover, love passes on to her paramour
and finally her love rests in the hearts of those who accept it;
though silently they never know it is bestowed upon them,
and though realization may rest in the abyss of denial.
Love originates inside the womb that carries a life
before on this earth those two little feet descend;
love nourishes and strengthens the hearts of men
unaware they pass that love on to others
when they are the fathers, brothers, lovers and husbands
all men get their love from just one person
called a woman who multiplies her love in all dimensions.
Love is endless in its form, love is not unique
it happens all the time to everyone, love is a gift
love is common inheritance that all possess
and pass it on to others to thrive on and treasure
and though from this world perishes life
love lingers on and silently reverberates
in all the hearts that touch one another
for when hearts collide, love sparks and never dies.
