Knock Poem by Anji Carter

Knock

If I write as the thought crosses my brain,
What shall I find upon the paper?
What remains?
Can the pen weave these quicksilver threads of my imagination,
Into a tapestry of understanding?
"Try drawing with your eyes closed", he suggested.
"I can try" I answered, "Just as those before me.
Implore the ‘Muses' for their benediction,
A blessing on my talents."
"If only", I thought,
"I have no right to ask.
Simply a need,
A desire."
Such was the promise,
‘Knock, it will open.
Ask it is yours.
Have faith, trust and believe'.
It must come,
Because I believe it will!
