The Seasons Of Thought Poem by Anji Carter

The Seasons Of Thought

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes my mind can feel so strange,
An endless teeming mountain range.
A snow of thoughts, falling swift,
Into chasms, into drifts.
Icy shafts so crystal bright
Catch imaginations light,
Bouncing it around my head
Until my fantasies are fed.
Imagination, you're my pleasure.
Creation, you're my favourite leisure.
Thoughts like colours I have seen,
Here within my private dreams.
I take a sound, create a picture,
Music changes, here's a fissure.
Like a glass the image splinters,
Icy pictures, long dark winters.
In my mind the season changes,
Hazy summers, misty ranges.
Come with me to ‘Autumn's' splendours,
Taste the colours that she renders.
Feel with me the seasons changing,
As my mind is outward ranging.
Open up your deepest chambers
To reds and golds, and warm rich ambers.
Here my thoughts I give you, see me.
Yours the key, which comes to free me.
With a mind to share my dreamings,
Come unravel all my meanings.
Take the symbols and apply them,
Speak your questions,
Ask me, "why them? "
Here in words my mind I'm giving,
Could this be why I am living?
When at last I feel you heed me,
Perhaps you will no longer need me!
