The lady of liberty wept today
Tears of copper red
Tears for her sons of anarchy
Tears for her COVID dead

The Eagle hung his head in shame
Then folded freedoms wings
While Democracy at the edge of despair
To reason tenaciously clings

The corridors of power echo
to a nations pains, Yet still
The commander in chief's
insatiable ego remains

Brother on brother
Father on son
Division and hatred grow
Have or have not, both will
Succumb to the law of old Jim Crow

Oh America, be great again
Stand United, not forlorn
For only from
Freedom of speech and mutual respect
Can true democracy be re-born
