I Was Blind, But Now I See Poem by Qumber Rizvi

I Was Blind, But Now I See

I was blind, but now I see
That it was all you, indeed never me.

You walked in and just
took away my heart.
It was not to snatch, take away and flee.

Come close had you said,
it shall be a life.
But now is this life, an autumn-changed tree.

I wondered all the time
if Heaven was on Earth.
Immanent Will is cruel, took it away with thee.

If only I had magic
to summon aeons and ages,
I would've put my moments, yours wouldn't there be.

Imprisoned is my soul,
my memories and my heart.
Who knew it would be you, who would kill me, baby?

Your laughs, your smiles,
that glimmer in your eyes,
That all is now missing, that's all what I see.

I still try to crack
some jokes around my circle.
This circle is so large, it consists just of me.

One day when I will get well,
and there shall be this new belle,
Maybe then I would thank you, that you had set me free.
