I Sing Poem by Mwihaki Kahiga

I Sing

Rating: 5.0

I keep singing,
As i walk,
As i sit,
As i sleep,
I keep singing in my spirit,
Like am afraid of someone eavesdropping,
Like am scared my voice is not good enough.
And then in the shower i sing,
Loudly without a care,
Passionately and confident,
My voice sweet,
My tones in place,
As the water runs,
My voice cutting through,
I keep singing and singing
I keep singing behind the curtains,
Behind the walls,
Behind the bushes,
Behind the benches,
And am tired of singing behind stuff.
I want to sing to be heard,
I have a message to pass on,
So help me sing in the open,
In front of multitudes,
In front of Nations,
In front of kings and queens,
And sing i will sing for singing,
Passionately and confidently for a lifetime.
