I saw a ghost today,
As I walked the way,
Along the edge of the wood.
Momentarily I stood.
A fleeting presence,
An evanescence.
Her smile did tell
All would be well.
I felt no fear
Though she was near,
Her long dark hair,
It held my stare.
This beautiful presence
Was without malevolence,
Truth of non-finality,
Beyond mortality.
As the vision faded,
My doubt satiated,
Earthly life though ended,
Eternity impended.
