I Kissed Him With My Whole Heart...Kenny Rogers Poem by Genice Lorraine De Fabriciano

I Kissed Him With My Whole Heart...Kenny Rogers

Rating: 5.0

I was so close
I could touch him
As his music has always touched me
I reached out, in every verse
Stumbling over words
But I knew them all
Every song
Singing with him
His famous songs
Impressed into my DNA
Lifeblood to my veins
The concert would end
Yet, I'd still be singing along
His gambling song
And all the other stories he'd tell
Oh, I was close,
I could touch him
Front row seat to his humble being
A concert never forseen
Yet he saw me
Singin his songs
Singin his words
Harmonizing every tune
Wanting to be a part
Of his music and soul
His vibe transcended my mood
Into a tranquil lull
That night I felt whole
I was touched by a star
By far, the most treasured man, to me
In country music history
Whether or not you're a country fan
This is, and was, "The Man"
My country star music man, for me, since the age of 3
Every one of his songs translates into meaning
A lesson with a moral
Sometimes not..
Every meaning a lyric
Every lyric a story
Every story a song
And the music plays on...
I was so close
I could touch him
A legend, rightfully so,
In his time,
Before, during and after his prime
And Always, a winner, in my time
A famous actor and movie star
A country singer who stole my heart
Could play the room with his eyes and songs
My bearded man let me singing along

Kenny Rogers I Love You!
May Angels sing your music over us
I'll miss you a lot!

I was So close to you, ..Mr. Kenny Rogers..close enough to touch you!
But I loved you way too much, so I Kissed You With My Whole Heart

..once a gambling man, always a gambling man..."The Gambler"
Poem is a reflection of a Kenny Rogers performance at Ceasar's Palace.

I felt so compelled to write this tribute about "our" Kenny Rogers.
This poem is partially to honor Kenny Rogers, in remembrance of his many gifted talents, but also, because Kenny's candle slowly drifted off, quietly, during the night, this last Friday, March 20th.
I felt such sorrow, grief and sadness for Kenny Roger's family, friends and his multi generations of fans.
In this poem, "I Kissed Him With My Whole Heart"©, about Kenny Rogers,
I want to focus on a happier time. A time of joy, minus the sorrow.
Kenny's music and songs are playing on amidst the loud overbearing news of the Coronavirus (Covid 19)epidemic...and other news.
Surely, Kenny Roger's music and his spirit will live on, and play on today (right now)and during, and after, this pandemic passes through our world.
Whole Hearted Kisses, Kenny, love, Genice Lorraine
