I hate you
I hate you so much it hurts
I hate your smile...
Your eyes...
Your mouth....
'U' knows, and takes the letters South
Where 'U' is no longer with the M, o, t, h
And then you burn me with your flame
Just because I was looking for the North
Yet hate isn't like a compass...
Otherwise, I would have known to steer clear
Clear of the 'U', of which I don't know
An island of mystery,
that brings me misery whenever I get too close
For I can see it was just a fantasy...
'U' was actually a mainland
Its shape had already anchored, like me
Unlike me, 'U' found somewhere else.
A shore so beautiful, with rich blonde sand.
Of course you would have fallen,
When perfection is at your hands
And then the tide comes crashing in,
Leaving me wrecked and washed-up.
And you see me
See me up-close with your telescope
Galileo in art and design
You see my weapon that I wear on my sleeve,
And break it...
Taking it with you as you sail away,
Turning your back,
And moving on to new shores... This time black
And despite all that you feel, say and do,
I can't help but hate you

Very good emotional poem. Does touch on many levels knowing how it is to have someone so special hate you.
