Hurrah! Trump Has Won Poem by michael spangenberg

Hurrah! Trump Has Won

Harder, dirtier, more excessive
Maybe more exciting than ever
The election battle, the greatest show
on earth, spectacular reality TV
Just reached its satisfying climax.

Trump's invading army loot, burn
pillage their way through Washington DC
leaving a wake of destruction wherever they went
The plundering continued for seven days
For the first time in nearly a millennium
DC is in the dog house for at least 4 years
In the unsteady hands of a narcissist-in-chief
This was the first time that America imploded
But by no means the last, marking the beginning
Of the fall of the Roman empire.

Trump's rumblings have had a seismic effect
The value of the foreign currency, the Mexican
peso plunge, Trump protectionist administration
targets to drive the latin enemy down much further.

Trump wins, some will cheer, most will jeer, but the
Chinese and Russians will still arrive on both coasts.
Brexit times 50 is here to stay, British hearts & stomachs
Begin to quiver & convulse.

Trump's triumph plays into a different perception
America is imposing, omnipotent, but most Americans
Are stupid as in: Father, they know not what they do
(Luke: 23-34) .

The US & democracy have traveled
From euphoria to depression
Now America will become great again
Trump victory's a triumph for prejudice & ignorance
Paving the way to turn his supporters into
Accomplices his thuggish behavior.

Pact America is ripped apart, 'Leader of the
free World' coca cola brand's decisively replaced
By national demons, racism & misogyny
Discrediting the very idea of civil society
Democracy's now small almost everywhere.

The loose canon's victory rudely awoke sleeping
nuclear dragons around the world
Some in Germany now worry that a Trump-induced
retreat from NATO could spark a debate about the need
to seek its own nuclear weapons
Looming over that question is a Russia headed
for insolvency but always ready to brandish nuclear
weapons, to assert its place in the world.
America's supposed to be the model of stability
and rationality in the world. Trump's banana republic's
making Ukrainian politics look reasonable in comparison.

The world waked up in a different world where
the most powerful country is ruled by an idiot
all of a sudden it's debased, and more fragile
Uncle Sam once seemed to protect people
Around the world, now Sam got Alzheimer's
Full of disconnected thoughts, about himself
About the Wall, his illegal immigrant wife
Having trouble remembering who he is.

What goes up the chimney down, but can't go down
The chimney up? The answer to the riddle is post-Trump
America, at its lowest point it can go down the chimney down
Or up the chimney down, but is unable to go down the chimney
heads-up, walking tall, or up the chimney up like Mary Poppins
Trump's umbrella's invariably colored how-low-can-you-go
But hey, whatever Trump is, he's better than a woman.

America, it was a good idea at the time
But it's time to move on.

Don't we all wish that were true! Maybe in four years we can say that.
