How Much Sorrowful Moment Poem by michael spangenberg

How Much Sorrowful Moment

The deserted swing sways
Gently in the wind

I can't forget their tears
Nor can I forget their laughter

I can't forget the melancholy
The fallen leaves-forever

The long and winding roads
The narrow endless lanes

The promise of new life
Christ's embrace in the wind

Moral arch of the universe, why
Invariably, bent towards injustice

Arab Spring all-of-a-sudden turning
Into a cold Siberian winter, freezing

I can't forget hat Arab spring
Has ended-come to screeching halt

I can't forget the feeling of parting
From the bold audacity of hope

Nor can I forget the Syrian refugees
The sorrow of blooming flowers

It seems to say the words of my heart
Over and over again, I can't forget

I can't forget that the flowers of spring have faded
Nor can I forget the sadness of missing my lover

Srebrenica of the Middle East
I can't forget our walks in the rain.

Footnote-Credit where credit's due, poetry variation of
Deng Li-Chun's immortal song lyric (1994) :
Endless Love, 林子祥 - 鄧麗君.
