Hand Me Downs Poem by Genice Lorraine De Fabriciano

Hand Me Downs

Rating: 5.0

Hand me downs that call my name
inside this bag, my claim to fame
socks and belts and scarves that dance
all I need is underpants

hidden treasures fall down deep
clothes piled high, I dive in steep
up I come with jewels galore
someday I may have a store

but for now I dance and dream
dressed up gliding as I sing
Thank you bag of hand me downs
someday you may bring me gowns

today I fit the accessories
never know what tomorrow brings
all I know is I'll be in fashion
creating outfits in my passion

in my mind,
I'm the Belle of the Ball
all dressed up
like a Barbie Doll

Thank You, God
Thank You, Jesus
Heaven knows
we really need this

Thank you, bag
for coming our way
hand-me-down giver
you made my day

Kindest Thank you
I can never repay!
