Dreams Poem by Anji Carter

Dreams

Dreams.
Visions of eternity.
Suspended as stars in the infinity of your conscious mind,
Cascading as waterfalls into the effervescence of your imagination,
Rolling and breaking against the shores of your life.
Despair.
Touching the edges of your dreams.
Send it away on the white horses of your ego.
It is a tide, and tides can change.
Today you cry, howl at the moon.
But even the wolf may change its tune, as the sun lights the corners of its world.
Smile.
The Sun will shine, and you will laugh.
Stretch out your arms and open your hands.
Happiness is a present, given in friendship,
Cherished and nurtured into love and understanding,
Bringing strength to follow your dreams, your visions of eternity,
Across the milky-way of your existence.
