Don't Tell Me God Bless You Poem by Victor OKechukwu

Don't Tell Me God Bless You

Don't tell me God bless you
When you mean I love you
Baby, God doesn't bless hypocrisy

We are true offspring of blessings
Dating back to the days of innocence
At God's formulated rendezvous
Resounds this riff from man's poem debut:
Bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh
Plucked from my rib's side, planted by my side
Moulded with my flesh and blood
Bonded by heart and love
Call me man, I call you woman
For we are of the same kind
Hence I throw all else behind
So we can cleave and be one

So right from the beginning of days
Blessèd has been this romance
As witnessed by the Ancient of Days
In the lights of innocence

And from the dawn of creation
It pours down on us
From the dawn of creation

So let your true feelings flow
And with the right words let it show
And don't tell me God bless you
When you mean I love you
For it is love He blesses
And shuns hypocrisy
