Departure Poem by Hillary Nwaigbo

Departure

Rating: 5.0

Oh! How we gonna desert the lonely fields
That warmly embrace our feet
Leav'n' traces of its prints

The trees that claps its leaves
And bade us good-byes each passing eve
The sun extending its chin at the brisk of dawn
Always awake to behold moonlight at dusk

Clinging my breast closely to thy chest,
My heart throbs in search of a calm rest
Tears dribbling down my cheek in great quest
Thoughts reminiscing emotions at its best

My lips wide agape in utmost dismay
Sincerely hoping actions won't derail
Fleeting moments of ecstasy down memory lane

Times pals felt like going insane
Each looking for a day we all shall aim
To heal the yester nights of lonely pain
Clinging glasses with laughter on our plates.
