Crying Daughter Poem by Sukhbir Singh Alagh

Crying Daughter

Rating: 5.0

Why you want to kill me
I want to live

How the world is
I want to see

During my childhood
I will not tease you

For anything
I will not bother you

Oh mother,
Why you making sin
Trapped in greed of son

You also had birth by female

So,
Why you want to kill me
This world is going on
Due to female

Please do not kill me
I want to see the world.

This is my second visit here. The poem strongly presents the case against killing of a girl child in her mother's womb. The practice is a curse on society.

You also had birth by female Please do not kill me / I want to see the world. The poem is the plea of an unborn daughter in the backdrop of the evil practice of female foeticide which is the bane of our society. Thanks.
