Closure In The Aftermath Poem by G George

Closure In The Aftermath

Rating: 5.0

Fear of letting you go, I honed
An idea and an interest, however,
Hurtful, I had, a facade just to make you,
Perhaps in the worst of your days see
me,
As I do you

A couple calls I made, checking on you just to hear
That voice, your laughter made my bad days bearing
Days I waited for you to recognize my obsession
Or just an effort I made,

The thought of never having to call you mine,
I stumbled on, until my fate was sealed, not you
My talks you detest, I wish you knew how I'd curate them
Before, to ensure I was me and not your ideal,

Don't they say girls love authentic you, I was
Every morning, you clouded my thoughts
For you lived,
I now wake up and I can't think of you,
I wish I could, now more than ever,

I think it's time, nature's way of telling me
I'm healed
