Children Know About Freedom Poem by Hebert Logerie

Children Know About Freedom

Children of everywhere know about freedom,
As at an early age, they understand boredom.
Children know very well about discrimination,
They understand that slavery was an aberration.

Children know about intolerance and injustice.
They watch the evening news and see the police
Violating the rights of the homeless and the poor.
Life can be very difficult for our people to endure.

Our children know about unfairness and racism.
They observe and take mental notes of each event.
Many of them will vote to change the bad mechanism,
That allows unjust punishment and false imprisonment.

Our quiet little children know about North and South Korea.
They see and talk about the drastic change going on in America.
Only fools and lunatics think that America has not been great,
That she needs to be great again. America's fate is good and safe.

Children are not dumb; they are watching like divine angels.
Let the politicians tweet, boast, bloviate and rave like angry devils.
The smart citizens are taking notes and will surely vote accordingly.
The next election will not be like the last one: fraudulent and shady.

Children are the impartial and the archetypal witnesses of history.
They cannot be fooled, they cannot be bought, and they are growing up.
The candidates can try to bait them, but our children will always be on top.
The courageous children of the world know about real and fake freedom.
