Children Should Not Be Mistreated Anywhere Poem by Hebert Logerie

Children Should Not Be Mistreated Anywhere

Regardless of the unconventional situation
Children should not be abused or mistreated
May they be immigrant, migrant or not
Babies should not be handcuffed or incarcerated
Children must be protected anytime at all cost
Babies need great care and good nutrition
And they should not be bathed in toilets
What kind of evil nut imperils or endangers
The lives of innocent babies and toddlers?
Concentration camp is lethal for even pets
Men and women at the facilities are sleeping
On concrete floors, they cannot brush their teeth
Or take daily showers, everywhere is filth
Where are the Evangelists? Are they praying?
Stop the daily lies, stop the poor excuses
Stop the mental pogrom, stop the ugly ruses
America, you can be better
America, you can do better
America, you used to carry the torch of liberty
America, you used to be a country of pride and dignity
America, too many brave young men and women
Have died for freedom, yes for the rights to be free
America, what happened to you? The land of prosperity
The land of second and third chance, the haven
Of political prisoners of faraway land
And the oasis of philanthropists. Americans used to stand
For freedom and fairness. America, what happened?
America, what's going on? Why can't the band
Play the same music? Sing America the beautiful
Don't sing America the ugly. Sing America the distressful
America needs a make-over, better foreign policies
Compassionate leaders who care about all children
Not braggers who cannot unite or who practice injustice
America needs her glory days back. Let love and liberty reign!
