Calicut Air Crash - Pray Just Pray (For Passengers To Survive) Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Calicut Air Crash - Pray Just Pray (For Passengers To Survive)

Rating: 5.0

"O my child walk out quickly
from the arrival gate
and show me your face
lest I collapse with fear
as this homecoming was not
your time to leave me in these tears
of sadness and pain
as I waited to cry with joy
as I waited to hold you in my arms
and kiss you several times.

You were my only breadwinner,
so helpful and encouraging
in this old age when the walking stick
is all I have to hold and recline
for my support and my future endurance.

With joy in my heart I waited at the airport,
now my eyes are filling up with tears,
as I pray, I think you may not be dead
you may not be alive,
my anguish is awake,
my hopes are darkening,
as they tell me some have not survived.

So, how can I stand out and wait
to know whether you have survived or not
as an air crash causes fatal injuries
which can be greater than
the harm corona virus imposes
as in an air crash death is so instant
and comes without any warning?

And though you had escaped the impact
of the deadly corona virus
and you had caught this flight
to get home to safety.
so, if you are there among the survivors
please hold on to your strength
and hang on.

Keep breathing
don't give up though you may feel
death has touched you and gone
just like the virus had been around you
and it did not touch you,
as you had outlived that fear.

But now the same fear has surrounded me
as I retrospect if fate had written this end
where as you survived one fall,
had you to still fall in another ridge?
And though you may never escape
the afflictions you confront,
distress will never isolate you from my heart.

So my child don't die today
don't die without my permission
as I want to go before you go
having seen this world enough
and if you depart first
the pain in my heart will make me insane
that I will search for you everywhere
all night and day
for the double jeopardy of danger
you have faced and undergone;
and I will keep asking myself:
where was my care lost,
where was mercy from God lost".

So my child don't die today don't die without my permission as I want to go before you go.... //.... It was all very tragic and emotional the scene of which has been re-created so poignantly. The hopes of returnees were not meant to be dashed in this way. Our prayers are with the passengers and the crew of the ill-fated plane and their families. RIP dear men and women who could not survive this accident.
