Broken Poem by Tammy Ashton

Broken

Rating: 4.3

I am broken

Broken beyond repair

Pieces

Lost

along this struggle
that is life

Over time

I have master
the illusion

of happiness
confidence
and hope

Eventually

This
patchwork of lies

This
delicate bandage

Rips apart

Pierced

by the sharp
jagged edges
of my past

exposing wounds

deep

neglected

too painful
to touch

they grow
and fester

I shatter
like a mirror thrown
