To My Son Seth Poem by Tammy Ashton

To My Son Seth

Rating: 4.0

I think about you always

I wonder what your first word would have been

I think it would be mamma or No

I wonder how you tiny hand would feel cradled in mine

I think it would be soft and warm

I wonder how your voice would sound from first word to manhood

I think it would be tiny and sweet, then cracking, then deep and kind

I wonder who you would resemble as you grew

I think your father.. you looked just like him when you were born

I wonder how you would have acted on your first day of school

I think you would be brave, but I would cry when I left you

I wonder what kind of man you would have become

I think you would be handsome, smart and gentle

I wonder if you know that I love you and miss you still

I think you do I feel you with me
