Black Night Poem by Garba Ado Ibrahim

Black Night

As i lay alone in total darkness;
With my newly born anger and unhappiness,
My eyes as red as embers,
Floading cold and hot tears,
My head too heavy and my brain in more actions,

As i lay alone in total darkness;
So hurt are my feelings,
So weak are my legs,
And my heart is filled to the brim,
With sorrows,
My lips uncertain for further functions,
So i am in the sea of pain and grief,
With uneasiness,

As i lay alone in total darkness;
I remember your charm and politeness,
Your joke the smile and laugh with easiness,
Your favourite food and the drinks,
Your eagerness and patience,
Your generousity and stingness,

As i lay alone in total darkness;
I recall all your dislike and likes,
Your enemies and good friends;
I even remember your best dress,
Please! Have you really gone my happiness?
I reached out my hands,
But welcomed by emptiness,
The "BLACK NIGHT",
Is the beginning of total darkness.
