Beauty Of You Poem by Laurence Read

Beauty Of You

Still waters of a lake like glass

Babbling brook or flowing stream

Cascading waterfall, torrent supreme

Angry seas, or thunderous storms

Lush green fields, and sunny days

High mountains, with snows atop

Romantic walks, kisses with lovers ne'er to stop

Eagles flying in endless space

Sun drenched beaches, evening swims

Picnics in a romantic scene

Frollicking in fields, endlessly serene

Holding lovers under starry skies

Winter walks on frosty paths

Children playing and laughing loud

Hide and seek in forests found

Christmas morn, snow upon the ground

Pictures of halcyon days past

Paintings of horses, mills, of people past

Castles, beaches, and other things

We picture in our eye

As things of beauty and love

To be remembered and in us evoke

A feeling and passion so bespoke

To cherish, to capture in our hearts

All of these most treasured things

For all time we'd love to call

And experience the beauty of them all

But all set apart I tell thee so

To me, all are beautiful yes in truth

But not as beauty, is to me

For all of these o'er shadowed be

By the beauty found in you.
