..as if
time had wandered in pitch darkness
as if a squirrel
had been caught by a hunting dog
as if a cockroach
had fallen on the ground
and just now an innocent
was crushed while crossing the road
when you softly asked me in the language of the market
what else do you do
besides poetry?
