Around The Light Of The Red Candle
We were all gathering
harmoniously at night
around the light of the red candle
Suddenly
A storm blew
Extinguished the light
Scattered us
Changed love to hatred
Quickly aged the youngsters
Took away
the smiles on the lips
of labourers.
Now
instead of waiting
for Shiny euro train
to take us to the world of luxury
we are waiting in the queue
for the food bank!
I liked how this poem was presented to convey a meanigful life story with an underlying message. It allows a reader to fully grasp what the Poet would love to impart. A very effective tool to arrest the reader's mind.
When fate strikes, everything changes. A 180 degree turn in our life
