An Angel In Disguise Poem by Laura Jane Wilson

An Angel In Disguise

Rating: 5.0

She wore a little feather
this little girl that I once knew
I asked her about it,
She said it would protect her as she grew.

An Angel gave it to me, she smiled
and held it in her hand
One day I will have many
and fly over all this land.

She gazed at me so innocent
a child of three or four
and asked me where my feather was
this pained me to my core.

I had a feather once I told
when i was a small child,
but the wind swept it away from me -
the air was very wild.

The girl thought for a moment
as she wiped away my tears,
You can borrow this one
You've gone without for many years.

She held it out for me to have
this little morning star
and whispered in my ear so quiet,
Dont be afraid, it will take you far.
