A Winterfest Tribute And Toast Poem by Brian D Griffin

A Winterfest Tribute And Toast

Now half way thru this noble, gracious reign
When icy fingers grip the royal band
When or' cast grayish skies try to disdain
The wealth and health of all here in this land.

With whitish blanket deep around our feet
His people longing so for warmth and green
He to his side he beckons all to greet
Here in this hallowed hall midst this warm scene

No truer winter's night than this you'll see
With winters icy breath and biting sting
Yet, his majesty declares tonight we'll be
More like the warmth and sun of coming spring

So to us all here gathered in this hall
All raise your glasses now with me this night
With thanks to God for each of us and all
But mostly to the coming warmth and light

But mostly, lest we not forget the thing
That brings us all unto this hallowed place
I raise my glass most high to Pat, Our King
And to his Queen Irene, the fair of face.

Now bless us all and all we here make merry
While winter's wind outside tries hard us to undo
I'll dance and sing tonight, no more I'll tarry
Now to this Winterfest let's start anew.
