A Fistful Of Sand Poem by Bharati Nayak

A Fistful Of Sand

Rating: 5.0

You are the mighty blue sea
You welcome me
With open arms
You offer
the whole of your precious treasure
But I am no match
To your height
I could never
Become a river
Nor the vast sea-shore
I am just a fistful of sand
Loaded on the truck
And transported
To build
A house.

'I am just a fistful of sand Loaded on the truck And transported To build A house.' interesting, might take more than a fist full of sand to build a house, even to fill a sandpit, but actually a beautiful metaphor in the context of the poem

Your writing makes me feel how insignificant I am in the very large universe. TFS

A powerful poem that penetrate the psyche of all of us who from time to time feel so small and insignificant in this vast universe. Yet every grain of sand help to make up the vast sea shore as every drop of water contributes to the vast ocean. Well done my friend!
