A Bumpy Ride Poem by susette varga

A Bumpy Ride

Rating: 4.5

Feeling the rush
As the ground recedes
Pulling my dreams
From beneath my feet

The pilots voice rings
Stinging my ears
" cruising at ten thousand feet
Fasten your seatbelts
It's a bumpy ride "

Secrets and lies
Recently exposed
Truth it seems
Will always come out

Unpleasant surprises
Embracing all illusions
Feeling powerless
Chains too tight
Struggling to escape

Entangled within
An emotional trap
Fearful of change
And all it may bring

Problems acknowledged
Now faced head on
Surrendered the facade
Left behind my woes

Disappointment and heartbreak
You cannot rule me
The way you treat others
Is a reflection of you
Not a mirror of me

My kindness mistaken
For weakness indeed
How foolish you are
I am better than this

Feeling the rush
As i crash
To the ground
New dreams
Now explosive
You cannot keep me down
