257. My Dreamy Senses Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

257. My Dreamy Senses

Rating: 4.5

I walk on the way of
Life and reality of the modern world
And stumble again and again
Like a drunker absorbed in
Highly intoxicating wine
Only to enter the world of beauty.

The world of love and beauty
Recedes from me like mirage
And being so tired and weak
I fall into a deep slumber.
Then I try repeatedly
To awake myself.

My senses get benumbed and lulled
With the addicting scent of the poppy of life.
My eyes are weary and half closed
Like those of an opium eater.
Yet they dream to create
The world of romance and joy.

When I awake from sleep,
I feel as if my feet are chained or nailed.
I try heart and soul to stand but I fail.
Then my body starts to roll like a piece of moving stone
And my dreamy senses say to me,
'Carry on... never give up hope to reach the world of beauty.'
