Diversity

A Poem by Moses ABOLADE,
Dé Peace Poet.19/12/2020

Diversity, not our adversity
It is our reality
An identity ruptured in eternity
He is like a madman looking tattered in entirety...
He is a big entity in this society
Looking funny in his cruelty...
'Oh! Why are we so different? ' She said

Not only like a pot of soup
Or the maggi and salt forming coup
Not like the joint ingredients making Troops
Not like the conferences of vegetables and the 'drawing' soup
It is human relations; in the melting pot
No, they are not hot or worm
They only 'melt' at a spot...
Hmm! Not to make them into a kingdom
But designed to become sport

It is like the colours rolling off the bicycle
Turning round to make a mosaic cycle
It is the white, black and red
The ubiquitous and the read
The skirt, the tie, the wheelchair,
the mic and sugarcane we all should share
It is a combination that shines and hide
The dream that speaks from the side

Indeed, we are all different
And diversity is our reality
It is our identity
Our reality and frailty
Why make it our adversity?
